Little Scholars Program

Pop Warner Little Scholars is the only national youth sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play. We believe that the standards we have set give these children a sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life.

Little Scholars Program FAQs

1. It is a mandatory requirement that we receive 3 PHOTOCOPIES of your child’s full year 2010-2011 report card - or a 4th Quarter or 3rd trimester final report card.
2. A full year’s report card is required for OEC/National Little Scholar award recognition.
3. If you do not have a copy of the report card and you will not be able to get a copy until September when the school administration offices open, then you will have to complete an “Eligibility Form.”  (La Habra School District Office and Lowell School District Office are open throughout the summer, and copies can be obtained there.)
4. The Eligibility Form will temporarily take the place of the report card until we can get copies of the 2010-2011 report card.
5. If your child does not meet the required 2.0 “C” average, then an “Eligibility Form” must be completed.  Your child will then be required to submit a progress report, showing improvement of grades.  This must be submitted prior to October 8, 2011. If by this time your child does not show progress or passing grades then he/she will be dropped from the program.
6. The temporary “Eligibility Form” must be signed by THE COACH, THE PARTICIPANT, AND THE PARENT ONLY! The Eligibility Form does not require the school’s signature.  If your child is required to submit a progress report due to an insufficient GPA, then at that time a school administrator’s approval or signature is required for October certification.
7. Anyone with an “Eligibility Form” has to have either a 2010-2011 report card or a progress report card in the second sleeve of your team book before October 10, 2011 in order to certify.
